According to this FIT site (in Spanish) the former property of Chiapas-Mayab has been taken over by Ferrocarriles del Istmo Tehuantepec (FIT), which is known here on the english wikipedia as Ferrocarril Transistmico. This closure of Chiapas-Mayab and takeover by FIT is confirmed (in English) by Lowell G. McManus at his railways page. This is also confirmed (in English) by a posting on a railfan discussion forum (such are not usually considered sources reliable enough to use for wikipedia articles) at here. This company is already listed as a fallen flag on the List of Mexican railroads article and it is perhaps time to edit this article and its categories to better reflect the fate of this former Mexico rail company. 69.126.127.193 (talk) 02:34, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Clear distinction

There should be a clear distinction as to what pertains to the Yucatán section and what to the Pacific Coast (Chiapas) section. Migrants are not an issue in the Yucatán. Peter Horn User talk 03:21, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
